Bout of Books

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 5th and runs through Sunday, January 11th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. In conclusion, I'm horrible at this. Maybe it's because I picked the wrong time as I am a week away from my finals. Or maybe I'm just lazy. Either is correct. I ended up reading two and a half books which is not too bad considering the circumstances. Maybe I'll try read-a-thoning again next month. I'll be free most of the time, so should be fine. Anyway, on with the wrap up!

Book(s) read:
  • Girl Online by Zoe Sugg
  • Grace's Guide: The Art of Pretending to be a Grown-up by Grace Helbig
  • Legend by Marie Lu
Total pages: 726
Thoughts: I am tired. I'm gonna take a nap.

Bout of Books 12.0 | Update #4

Bout of Books

Heyo!

Today, let us just get to the point. I have a LOT to say about the books. Shall we?

Book(s) read:
  • Girl Online by Zoe Sugg
  • Grace's Guide: The Art of Pretending to be a Grown-up by Grace Helbig
Total pages: 482
Thoughts: It's a good reading day! Aren't you guys proud of me?

First of all, I want to talk about Girl Online by Zoe Sugg. I finished it. I didn't really like it. The plot was really jumpy. One thing moved on to another in a snap without any solution or even reasoning. The love story also happened in a blink of an eye. I was like, WHAT? IT DOES NOT WORK LIKE THAT! I love you, Zoe. I really do. It is so unfortunate that I don't like your book as much.

Now on to Grace's Guide. I've listened to it a few times in 2014. I just got the book in the mail a few days ago. What kind of stupid person orders something at the end of the year without considering that he/she lives on the other side of the world and that it was holiday season? Apparently me. I picked this book up because I know I love it. And that I don't even in the slightest bit mind reading (or rather, listen to) it over and over again. I know for a fact that the "Grace Helbing-ness" of it would make up for my disappointment for the start of the read-a-thon.

Riz

PS: I would post the picture of Grace's Guide here but since I am a scum of a human being, I won't.

Bout of Books 12.0 | Update #3

Bout of Books

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. Hello everyone!

I've been really good at keeping up with my posts this past week. I'm gonna give myself a pat on the back *pat pat*. Anyways, it's the third update of the Bout of Books read-a-thon. Yay! I haven't really go around social media to update everything. I usually just post my blog posts about it on twitter, so they can click it if they want to. This read-a-thon is actually pretty fun. Maybe it's because I'm not pressuring myself to do well. It's great, though. I feel good about myself. On with the update!

Book(s) read: Girl Online by Zoe Sugg
Total pages: 176
Thoughts: The book is quite fun, still. It's just a typical YA contemporary, I guess? Anyway, the explanation on the panic attacks is really vague. I can't really feel the panicky-ness (is that a word?) to be very overwhelming considering that Zoe herself has them. She's got to know how it actually feels. When Penny (the main character) got an episode, it just seems to be over so fast. I am pretty sure it doesn't work like that. Well, though I don't really like those bits, I'm still going to continue reading.

Riz

PS: The 'total pages' part is the amount of pages I read since the beginning of the read-a-thon. I don't keep track of how many pages I read each day. I'm just saying in case you're confused.

Hello!

I actually did some reading yesterday. What? I know. It wasn't much, really, due to school just starting and all. But the actual marathon will probably start on Thursday since I don't have any class that day. I still get some assignments and homework and so on but I think it's not going to bother me that much. See you tomorrow, I guess.

This is a proof that I actually have the book and am reading it

Book(s) read: Girl Online by Zoe Sugg
Total pages: 73
Thoughts: The book is actually quite enjoyable. It feels more like a Middle Grade rather than a YA, to be honest. But I'm still pretty confident that I will end up liking this book.

Hey, everyone!

I am back today with an update for the Bout of Books 12.0 read-a-thon. What a day! Okay fine, I lied. I actually didn't read any book yesterday because school just started and the stress that comes with it is just overwhelming. So, I decided to get my school stuff organized first and then read. However! I realized that when I actually started reading, it was Tuesday already. I am still reading Girl Online by Zoe Sugg which I will include in the update tomorrow. I am going to take it easy on this read-a-thon because I have things that I have to take care of. I probably picked the wrong month to take the challenge, but I'm still going to try. Wish me luck everyone!

See ya!

Bout of Books 12.0 Read-A-Thon

Bout of Books

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. This year I decided to join the Bout of Books read-a-thon. It is held every month of the year every year. Does that make sense? So, it is a read-a-thon where I try to read as much book as I can within a week. I will try to post every day to update on my reading because I am lacking so much last year. There are no promises but I am going to try my hardest to complete it.

I actually haven't thought about what books I'm going to read, but I think I will stick to comtemporaries and graphic novels since they are not so heavy on the feels. I am currently reading Girl Online by Zoe Sugg which I just got a few weeks ago and am very excited to read it. Maybe I will post my TBR tomorrow along with the first update. Please, bear with me.

I think that is all I have for now. See ya!

2014: A Reading Year in Review

Hey, people of the internet! It's been quite a long time since I last post. I will probably say that in the beginning of every post. You know how things are with me, expect the worst that could happen and you'll always end up quite satisfied in the end.

Anyway, IT'S FREAKING 2015! What the freaking freak?! How did I get here? Actually, don't answer that. Since it's a new year, I want to share some things with the internet regarding to the books that I read last year. If you are wondering, I did finish my 2014 reading challenge. Yay!

Now, I want to talk about how my reading experience was last year. I will mention some of my favorites, books that I don't really like, and some book covers that I love. 2014 was actually quite a good reading year. I read a lot of books by authors I've never read before and most of them are really good. Without further a due, let's get into it!
